Description

Orig. in Red Bluff, Calif., by Grant Merrill. Introd. in 1968. Plant patent 2964; 27 Jan. 1970. Merrill Bonanza o.p.; apparently a cross with a nectarine variety; discovered in 1960; selected in 1967. Fruit: 2 1/2 to 3 inches in diam.; skin brightly colored, pubescence short; flesh yellow streaked with red, very firm, quality good, freestone; ships well; resembles Improved Pacifica; ripens about with Improved Pacifica to slightly later. Tree: size medium; vigor moderate; productive; leaf glands reniform; flower pink, large, showy.
