Description

Orig. at Sandhills Res. Sta., Jackson Springs, N.C., by D.J. Werner, F.E. Correll, J.R. Ballington, C.N. Clayton, and D.F. Ritchie, North Carolina State Univ., Raleigh. Introd. in 1978. NC 7130 (Halehaven x Redskin) x Candor. Cross made in 1962; selected in 1967; tested as NCA 2183. Fruit: large; round with slight bulge at suture; flesh yellow with trace of red, firm, flavor good; semi-clingstone; skin covered with 70% light-red blush; ripens early 1 to 3 days before Candor, 17 to 20 days before Redhaven. Tree: self-fertile; productive; leaf glands globose; flowers nonshowy; tolerant to bacterial spot (Xanthomonas pruni).
