Nectarine, good flavor, split pits, not very juicy, little tart, some red pigments in flesh (SSC/TA 13.87)

Description

Gold King X P101–24 (=Red King op). Orig. 1969, USDA, Fresno, CA. Erratic; poor finish and crop some years. Good size. Frequently russeted. Number one nectarine in production in California in the 1980s. Looks fair to good; dark red with good quality and medium sized. Flesh: yellow; Gland: reniform; Bloom: showy; Shape: round; Firmness: very firm; Ripens: 0. Susceptible to bacterial spot.
