Description
Desiree' patented by Joe Goffreda, Rutgers University (USPP19382) on October 28, 2008. Originally identified asNJ350. 'Desiree' resulted from a cross of 'Garnet Beauty' and 'Sentry'. It has nonshowy flowers and ripens in the early season (eight days before 'Sentry'). Fruit are attractive with orange-red ground color, semi-freestone, with juicy, melting texture, and moderately acidic flavor. The fruit has yellow flesh. Trees produce well and fruit are firm with low incidence of split pits for the season. The tree is medium in vigor and resistant to bacterial spot.
