Description

Plant Patent #19,273 issued on Sept. 30, 2008 to Dr. Joeseph C. Goffreda (Rutgers University, NJ). NJF 18 is an early season peento, ripening approximately one week before Redhaven. It is a red-skinned, yellow flesh semi-clingstone with fruit that is large, very firm and high quality with a sweet, sub-acid flavor. It has melting flesh. The tree is vigorous and winter hardy. Please note that the flowers are pollen sterile and require cross-pollination from another variety. Bloom is showy and leaf glands are reniform. From Adams County Nursery.
