Description

Redglobe X Ranger; 1989, Clemson University, Clemson, SC; Best adapted to more northern areas of the Southeast. Shape gets rough at Byron, GA. Reliable cropper. Good quality with high yield; large size; Flesh: yellow; Gland: reniform; Bloom: nonshowy; Shape: round, with prominent suture; Firmness: medium to high; Looks: attractive; Ripens: -25. Moderately susceptible to bacterial spot. Ripens 3-4 days before Redglobe. The fruit is large and uniform with a slight suture bulge. At maturity the surface is 70% red with an attractive yellow ground color. There is some redness of the flesh near the pit cavity. The trees are vigorous and productive requiring 850-900 hours of chilling at 7 degrees centigrade to break floral bud rest period.
