Description

Orig. at U.S. Dept. of Agriculture S.E. Fruit & Tree Nut Res. Lab., Byron, Ga. Introd. by W.R. Okie. [(Hal-Bertax Fireglow) x Redglobe] x [(Sunhigh x Southland) x Redcap]; cross made in 1964 by V.E. Prince; selected in 1966; tested as FV5-1942 and BY5-1942. Fruit: large; skin attractive red on yellow ground color, light pubescence; flesh yellow, melting; freestone. Ripens about 10 to 12 days after Redhaven; ripens between Harvester and Redglobe. Flowers showy, self-fertile; leaf glands reniform; moderately resistant to bacterial spot. Chilling requirement about 850 h.
